Volunteers Serving the Community Since 1976

Proudly serving the heart of the Outer Banks, the Manns Harbor Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of our neighbors in Manns Harbor and the greater mainland area of Dare County, North Carolina. Our service area stretches from the peaceful neighborhoods along the Croatan Sound to the remote reaches of the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge — one of the most expansive and ecologically diverse areas on the East Coast.

Our volunteers respond to a wide range of emergencies, including structure fires, medical calls, vehicle accidents, and wildland fires. Whether it's a home in our local community or a call deep within the refuge, we stand ready 24/7 with dedication, professionalism, and heart.

MHVFD is more than just a fire department — we’re your neighbors, friends, and first line of defense when seconds count. With a deep commitment to service and safety, we continue to train, equip, and respond to the growing needs of our district, always striving to protect what matters most.

Rooted in Service. Driven by Community. Ready to Respond.
